Academy comments
Our Director, Lou Ellen Kay, knew Liz from when they both taught at Doņa Ana Branch Community College. She was impressed then by the fact that Liz was obviously intelligent and also very caring about education and the fates of the students. Liz volunteered at the Academy during the winter of 2010, and we were impressed by how well she interacted with the children and the wonderful way that she introduced material and got the children to write and produce great stories. After Liz was hired in the spring of 2010 we became even more impressed. Liz is very sensitive to the needs and feelings of the students, and is able to gently direct their efforts, producing good writing and teaching them how to interpret the various types of literature.
