Scholarships
From LCA
Despite being a new, small school, LCA has (limited) funding for financial aid. Financial aid for the 2009-2010 school year will be awarded based on the order applications were received, the amount of funds available, and of course whether a student has been accepted to LCA. LCA will calculate the amount of financial aid potentially available to a student's family based on financial information submitted by the family, but requests that families that feel they can afford to pay more communicate that ability. Families that request lower amounts of financial aid not only increase their own chances of receiving aid, but also help increase the chances of families further down the queue receiving aid.
The 2009 Financial Aid Process
- The first step, of course, is to apply. This establishes your serious consideration of LCA, and also determines your position in the financial aid queue. Your place in the queue is important because the first to apply is the first in line for financial aid.
- Once your application has been accepted, you can fill out the form above to request financial aid. There's no need to commit before you receive your financial aid offer, since financial considerations are an important factor in whether you can enroll at LCA.
- After determining the amount of tuition we believe you can afford to pay, we'll send you a letter or email to let you know the amount we calculated you can afford. This is not an offer of financial aid. It merely states the result of our calculations, and provides you with further instructions.
- You may either choose to accept your spot at LCA contingent upon receiving the amount of financial aid calculated, accept your spot at LCA contingent upon receiving a lower amount of financial aid (which you specify in your response), or surrender your spot.
- If you accept your spot at LCA contingent upon financial aid, we will notify you as soon as possible to let you know whether we can provide the full amount of financial aid or not. At this point, you will need to make your first tuition payment to keep your spot.
